Keep this date on your radar: February 4th, 2012!
Members of Color Country Interagency Fire are holding the 2nd annual Wildland Firefighter Foundation Ice Fishing Tournament, which will be held at Otter Creek Reservoir this year. This is a great tournament, with the proceeds going to a great cause. Each year the wildland firefighting community mourns the loss of fellow firefighters on the line. The Wildland Firefighter Foundation is an organization that raises money to aid the families of fallen firefighters. Last year we raised nearly $2,000 to contribute to the fund.
The entry fee will be $20.00, which will go directly to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. Also plan on bringing an additional $5.00 to pay for parking your vehicle at the Otter Creek State Park, where we will hold our briefing and check in. There will be several prizes given out this year, which have been donated and will not come from any of our entry fee dollars. Two of our top prizes will be a gas powered auger, and an ice fishing tent/shelter.
Look for more information to come in the next few weeks. I will post a flyer here as soon as it is available, as well as post information about registration, start times, and other important information. Plan on coming out to enjoy the fun, food, and to support a great cause. Stay tuned for more information!
